The Old Duke Jazz Festival
The Old Duke Jazz festival takes place once a year around the end of August and typically runs for 3 days. It's one of the cultural and creative events that Bristol is particularly renowned for, and has been going for 32 years. The pub that gives its name to the Festival is famous for its jazz influence in the city, with musicians including Acker Bilk having played there.

Performers on the stage erected at the end of King Street, with Welsh Back behind them. Both modern and traditional jazz are featured.
The area between The Old Duke and the Llandoger Trow tends to be standing room only, with people sitting closer to the stage.
Performers seen from backstage. There's a mixture of live performances from some well-known names, together with classic tracks in between.
Listening to jazz can be thirsty work: fortunately there are stalls and food stands down King Street.
The atmosphere tends to be relaxed and laid-back and very good-natured, with a mixture of jazz enthusiasts and people soaking up the ambience.
