Training in your office
We offer training in a number of areas:
- Web site updating
- Image editing
- Site Management
We are happy to assist clients with their updating requirements, or if they prefer we can train members of their team to update the site in-house. Where staff availability permits e.g. for larger organisations, it may make financial sense to bring updating in-house.
Training in other areas including computer skills and desktop publishing can also be arranged via recommended partners. Please enquire for details.
Web site updating (Expression Web / FrontPage ®)
Expression Web® is affordable and powerful web-editing software, and is easy to learn curve for people who want to update their site. The half day course includes:
- Adding and linking pages
- Changing and moving text and images
- Changing the appearance of text using styles

Adobe's Dreamweaver® CS4 is industry standard web-editing software, with powerful features designed to make updating even large sites straightforward. The half day introductory course includes:
- Adding and linking pages
- Changing and moving text and images
- Using library items
- Using styles to change the overall appearance
- Site validation

Web site updating (Contribute ®)
Adobe's Contribute® CS4 is a simplified version of Dreamweaver designed for online editing of Web sites. The half day course includes:
- Adding pages
- Changing text and images
- Uploading files (including pdf documents)
- Managing drafts

Image Editing
Creating images for use on Web sites involves a number of skills which are taught on this half day course. The course includes:
- The best tools for transferring images from cameras, and how to source stock images
- Cropping and resizing images
- Image formats and sizes
- Enhancing images for best effect
- Applying borders and styles

Site Management
Managing a Web site can involve a number of different skills depending on the nature of the site, the number of people creating content for it, and what regular maintenance activities are required. The half day course is customised to your requirements and may include:
- Managing the site contribution and approvals process
- Ways to improve the quality and timeliness of content contributions
- Forum moderation
- Ecommerce site management e.g. optimising customer retention
- Developing and managing partnership opportunities from affiliates to content contributors
- Monitoring and planning for growth through advertising and other methods

Summary of Terms
All trademarks belong to their respective owners. The software used for training may be supplied by GWS by advance arrangement. Installation of the software is the responsibility of the client. GWS may at its sole discretion provide assistance with the installation process but shall be under no obligation to do so.
Any time spent on-site assisting with installation or resolving installation issues shall be counted as part of the training. All training is on-site unless agreed in advance. Travelling expenses will be incorporated in the training fees. Training fees are payable in advance and are non-refundable. Full terms and conditions are available on application.
