As it is a bank holiday this weekend, we thought we'd take the opportunity to talk about our favourite subject: Bristol! We've talked a lot about our Bristol App since the launch of the new version, but one of our favourite things about putting it together is the opportunity to explore our favourite city, and learn more about its history. This weekend we will be out and about researching locations and we thought it would be good to share come of the range of events that are taking place.
One of the events in progress in Bristol this weekend, read on to find out more!

This past week has featured events relating to Bristol Vegfest, but this weekend is the main event, with stall and entertainment scheduled all weekend, including performances by Miss Dynamite on Friday and Aswad on Sunday.
But that's not the only festival going on this weekend, Bristol is also host to Igfest - a games festival now in its 4th year, exploring different sorts of street games and outdoor spectacles - the programme includes such intriguing-sounding events as Cowgirl Cowhunt, Arcade Anarchy and Wiffle hurling.
Also in the centre of Bristol this weekend is the newly formed Harbourside Market (now every weekend) which features food, arts & crafts and a great selection of books.
Looking for something to entertain the kids? At-Bristol have storytelling sessions every weekend. Or you can take a trip alongside the harbourside in a steam engine.
Further afield there are activites being offered at Tyntesfield House (a National Trust property just outside of Bristol) including trails and tours indoors and outdoors. While at Ashton Court Estate you can take up tree gazing or learn how to make soap.
These are just some of the highlights we are looking forward to this weekend, but there are plenty more on offer. What's Hot in Bristol has some very useful listings for Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

If you're out and about this weekend and you see something you think should be included in our App, let us know in the comments below, or even on the Facebook page for the Bristol App. We'd love to hear from you!
