In order to get started here's our introduction to some branches of social media which can be valuable for business.
Starting with:
LinkedIn is an online networking service primarily targeted at business users.
We'll be covering LinkedIn in more detail, but for now, it's enough to say that if you only want to dip a toe into the vast ocean of the internet marketing world, this is an excellent place to start.
It's the most professional, stripped down and least distracting and demanding form of social media. Also, once you have set up your profile, it can, if you choose, take care of itself, with updates sent direct to your inbox if anyone wants to contact you.
When you gain a new qualification or set up new premises, this is the place to update your business circle and potential clients.
If, on the other hand, you want to go all out and use it to recruit, get new business, set up a conference etc. then you'll find plenty of linkedIn tools that you can use.
